Royce Burell

Sales & Project Manager

With over 20 years in the landscape and irrigation industry, Royce Burell brings a proven background in project management, client service, and material sourcing to his role at Buchek Landscape & Irrigation. His career spans supplier, contractor, and management roles—including time with Colorspot Nurseries, Preferred Landscape & Lighting, Irrigation Enterprises, and AMC Industries (now SiteOne Landscape Supply)—giving him a well-rounded perspective on both residential and commercial work.

Royce joined Buchek at its founding in 2017 and now leads sales and project management efforts across the firm. He handles everything from commercial estimating to high-end residential installations, working closely with clients, contractors, and crews to ensure each project is completed with precision and care. His supplier-side experience gives him a unique advantage in material logistics and cost-effective planning—helping projects stay on track without compromising quality.

A former board member of both the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association (TNLA) and the San Antonio Irrigation Association (SAIA), Royce is also deeply connected to his community. He is an active leader in Scouting America and a lifelong supporter of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

For Royce, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing a client’s reaction when a project is complete. That moment of pride, he says, is the true measure of success.

Tres Buchek

Owner/Founder

A San Antonio native and proud graduate of UT‑Austin, Tres earned magna cum laude honors before launching his career in landscape construction and irrigation services. He began at Alamo Manufacturing Company (AMC)—founded in 1924 by his grandfather—working under his father, John Buchek II. There, Tres gained hands‑on expertise in irrigation design, installation logistics, soil performance across South Texas, and project management across commercial and residential sectors.

In 2017, he founded Buchek Landscape & Irrigation, now recognized as a leader in San Antonio and South Texas. With over two decades of combined experience, Tres oversees a full-range firm offering that serves both commercial and residential clients, collaborating closely with landscape architects and design firms statewide to execute projects that reflect design intent, practical function, and lasting quality.

In 2017, he founded Buchek Landscape & Irrigation, now recognized as a leader in San Antonio and South Texas. With over two decades of combined experience, Tres oversees a full-range firm offering:

  • Landscape design and installation: from plant selection (native and ornamental) to sod, grading, and soil conditioning
  • Irrigation systems: including custom sprinkler design, drip irrigation zones, smart timers/controllers, system repair, and water‑efficient layouts tailored for sun, slope, and soil conditions
  • Landscape lighting: uplighting, path and patio LEDs, accent and deck lighting with smart sensor and timer integration to enhance both beauty and security 
  • Hardscape and masonry: patios, pathways, retaining walls, seating walls, outdoor kitchens and fire features, using stone, brick and pavers with structural precision and aesthetic integration

Tres’s firm serves both commercial and residential clients, collaborating closely with landscape architects and design firms statewide to execute projects that reflect design intent, practical function, and lasting quality.

Outside the office, Tres is deeply involved in civic and cultural life in San Antonio:

    • Actively participates in the Texas Cavaliers, the Order of the Alamo, and the German Club
    • Serves as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church
    • Married to Mills, together they have a daughter, Mary Louise, who is following her father’s footsteps at UT‑Austin

Tres is known for his deep technical knowledge in:

  • Designing irrigation layouts that optimize water use and adapt to South Texas soil and climate while also protecting against hard freezes
  • Seamlessly integrating hardscape elements into living landscapes for both function and visual harmony
  • Implementing lighting solutions that balance safety, ambiance, and energy efficiency
  • Partnering with architects and design professionals to deliver commercial and upscale residential installations with design fidelity and operational reliability

His hands‑on background, combined with years of field leadership, provides a solid foundation for overseeing projects from initial concept through installation and maintenance. Tres emphasizes client-focused communication, environmental stewardship, and craftsmanship in every project.
