Owner & Founder

A San Antonio native and proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Tres Buchek earned magna cum laude honors before launching his career in landscape construction and irrigation. He began at Alamo Manufacturing Company—founded by his grandfather in 1924—where he worked under his father, John Buchek II, and developed a deep, hands-on foundation in irrigation design, soil performance, installation logistics, and project management across both commercial and residential sectors.

In 2017, Tres founded Buchek Landscape & Irrigation to bring that multigenerational knowledge into the modern marketplace. Today, he leads a full-service firm known for its technical expertise, collaborative mindset, and commitment to lasting quality. He partners closely with architects and design professionals statewide to deliver high-performance landscapes that are both functional and beautiful.

Founded in 2017, Buchek Landscape & Irrigation is a San Antonio-based firm offering comprehensive landscape construction and irrigation services across South Texas. With deep experience in both commercial and residential projects, the team is known for its craftsmanship, coordination, and reliable execution.

Beyond the field, Tres remains committed to civic and cultural life in San Antonio. He serves as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church and is an active member of the Texas Cavaliers, the Order of the Alamo, and the German Club.

He and his wife, Mills, are proud parents to their daughter, Mary Louise, who is continuing the family’s Longhorn tradition at the University of Texas at Austin.

In 2017, he founded Buchek Landscape & Irrigation, now recognized as a leader in San Antonio and South Texas. With over two decades of combined experience, Tres oversees a full-range firm offering that serves both commercial and residential clients, collaborating closely with landscape architects and design firms statewide to execute projects that reflect design intent, practical function, and lasting quality.

In 2017, he founded Buchek Landscape & Irrigation, now recognized as a leader in San Antonio and South Texas. With over two decades of combined experience, Tres oversees a full-range firm offering:

  • Landscape design and installation: from plant selection (native and ornamental) to sod, grading, and soil conditioning
  • Irrigation systems: including custom sprinkler design, drip irrigation zones, smart timers/controllers, system repair, and water‑efficient layouts tailored for sun, slope, and soil conditions
  • Landscape lighting: uplighting, path and patio LEDs, accent and deck lighting with smart sensor and timer integration to enhance both beauty and security 
  • Hardscape and masonry: patios, pathways, retaining walls, seating walls, outdoor kitchens and fire features, using stone, brick and pavers with structural precision and aesthetic integration
